Brooklyn-based artist Dawuna is a first generation Ugandan-American from the south, who blends outsider R&B and lo-fi soul with unique, silky vocals and first hand lyrics of existentialism.

He shares his additive new cut Bad Karma, which gravels and churns over chugging industrial marching band drum patterns, serenading low-lit vocals with squelches and blips that instantly makes you “feel good”.

The accompanying video was directed by Dawuna, Josiane MH Pozi & KO___OL. “For the video, we ‘sampled’ and heavily edited [old] commercials that use black people to market products in a market that is inherently anti-black. We wanted to illustrate this strange hostage situation.” explains Dawuna on the video.

Glass Lit Dream is a self-described “purely electronic album with a cold, lunar, digital aesthetic” and a celebration of Black sonic tradition.

The 10-track album is officially being released having been remastered by Amir Shoat (Mica Levi, LA Timpa, Klein) & Grammy and Mercury nominated Engine-Earz (Kali Uchis, Jorja Smith, Skepta) with physical LPs arriving early 2022 via Boomkat.

UPCOMING LIVE SHOW:

Dawuna has been invited by Dozie Kanu to his ‘Blood Type’ installation at NYC’s ‘Performance Space’ for a special debut live performance of the album on the 19th October.
