Louise Pearson is a visual artist based in the Highlands of Scotland. Her explorative practice is interdisciplinary, experimental and predominately guided by sound. Taking inspiration from quantum physics, and geology she seeks to visualise our place in time and space.
Living in a rural location, surrounded by some of the oldest rock formations in the world, her work is driven by nature and being immersed within it, not just what we can see and hear but also the unseen and unheard. From the earth beneath our feet that is constantly recycling by ways of subduction, to the space above us and how we relate in terms of time to earth, stars, planets and other galaxies.
The purpose of this work is to communicate what is beyond our monotonous society and explore the complexities within the quantum sphere without having to necessarily understand physics, attempting to bring comfort to that universally felt, existentialist feeling.
Her latest series of paintings titled ‘Frequency’ continues to explore the process of transforming the anxiety inducing thought about our own insignificance, to a feeling of warm bewilderment and wonder.

I love what you are doing Louise…combining the arts with science, human experience and our human predicament. We’ll done and keep going!
