Most of my previous work has been street photography projects in the past, and mostly based in Glasgow. However after having taken part in numerous art exhibitions here in Glasgow, London, Berlin and Rome later this year, I have been increasingly interested in abstract expression in photography.
I especially want to explore more large scale images, over A2 and in a gallery space. I have also become interested in a more involved photography process using light-boxes to create an almost stained glass effect, which would have a more intimate feel in a gallery space. I hope to experiment with this more in the future.
I find Glasgow to be a very visually interesting city, not necessarily because it is particularly beautiful, which it can be, but because it provides a combination of textural qualities and fluctuations in light. It is constantly inspiring. The decay of the urban environment is a strong theme in my work so far and I actively seek out interesting details and background for street photography.
