I began drawing when I was very little. I have always loved to create small stories on paper, to make people observe my work and make them fantasize on a surreal world of people and objects. My images have often been very strong, with themes such as death, loneliness, diseases, confusion. I have always loved to use colour as a way to express my strong emotions of a specific time in my life. I never decide what I am going to draw. I am driven by the emotions, by memories, by the surrounding where I am in that specific moment. Often, my work helps me to express a negative feeling I have, and when I look at it at the end, it helps me to see the world from another point of view.
Lately I have worked on ideas for album covers, starting with designs for hi.mo, an electronic music composer. “Strawberries”, “appetizers”, “breathe”, are some of his albums. I wanted to play with the words, in order to create surreal contrasts. For instance, for “strawberries” I divided the word into two parts, representing it as a plastic straw with berries, or for “appetizers”, I used this word, which is usually related to food, as a set of small plastic unanimated objects.
I love to create images which don’t have to be totally clear, in order to make the viewer observe them, reflect, and create his own stories.
