Finally, the time has come to reunite and enjoy that warm feeling of listening to live music, together, thanks to the award-winning Scottish Ensemble.
Having risen to the digital demands provided by the pandemic, SE are thrilled to return to their live music roots by bringing not one, but two live performances to Glasgow, on Sunday 11 October.
Teaming up with the ever-innovative SWG3, the ensemble will be taking the venue’s dedicated and safe outdoor space by storm, to deliver everyone’s favourite musical embodiment of Scotland’s autumnal weather; The Four Seasons.
Despite the restrictions of the last few months, nature has continued its journey: a story spectacularly told through the enduring power and high-octane energy of Vivaldi’s iconic masterpiece. It may have been written in the 1700s, but this piece speaks to the volatility and ever-changing pace of our world today with a piercing, poignant precision.
Join SE to celebrate new beginnings and the passing of time in these special 50-minute performances taking place at 3pm and 5pm on Sunday 11 October, at one of Glasgow’s most popular venues.
The outdoor area at SWG3 is covered, but audiences are encouraged to dress appropriately for Scotland’s notoriously changeable weather – a warm jacket to protect against any of the seasons that may be experienced on the day, is advised. While there is a guarantee that the atmosphere will be cosy, there are no promises made about the Glasgow weather!
Jenny Jamison, Chief Executive of Scottish Ensemble, said:
It has been a difficult time for everyone within the music, arts and culture industries over the past few months and we feel very fortunate to be in a position to perform live, once again, in Glasgow. While we have greatly enjoyed the challenge of adapting what we do to make the most of the digital world, and have thrived in collaborating with other creative organisations online, there is nothing quite like the adrenalin and connections that come from performing live and we are so pleased to be able to do so, in the safe and socially distanced space provided by SWG3.
