One of Scotland’s most exciting new musical prospects, at the forefront of the new wave of UK jazz talents, launches her debut album at Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall in a rescheduled date after her last minute guest support appearance with superstar Gregory Porter at the Albert Hall. Tipped as ‘One To Watch’ by BBC Introducing and Jazzwise Magazine.

From her early days growing up in Uddingston, Cécile’s stock has been rising on the strength of her captivating live performances and song writing partnership with award-winning pianist/composer Euan Stevenson. With recent performances at Celtic Connections and The Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival she is fast becoming a UK Festival favourite and now slated for appearances at Ronnie Scotts and the South Bank Centre, London.

This special concert will mark the launch of her highly anticipated debut album “Only The Lover Sings” showcasing a set of exquisitely crafted original songs from the album, fusing classic jazz and soul influences reminiscent of Duke Ellington and Nancy Wilson with a contemporary cinematic pop edge in the vein of Gregory Porter,  Melody Gardot and Celeste.  Co-written and arranged with Stevenson, the songs are vivid sensorial landscapes – poetic reflections on themes of love, loss, nurture and spiritual growth.

Cécile will be joined by her all-star band, including Stevenson on piano, Andrew Robb on bass and Max Popp on drums, alongside a lush string quartet and vivacious horn section.
