‘2020 in 20’ is a 20-minute online expedition exploring the chaos of this year. Told across 20 individual one-minute sketches, the audience will be granted a front row seat into our characters years. From time travellers warning of imminent danger to transforming into Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin, this tongue-in-cheek sketch series will bring some light and levity to 2020.
Each sketch will launch at 5pm every second day from Monday 23rd November until New Year’s Eve on Framework’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, with a final video compiling all sketches into one 20-minute play airing at 12pm on January 1st, 2021. This final piece will also be available on their website. All videos will be free to watch with optional donations, and 20% of these will be given to Black Lives Matter charities.
Framework Theatre are an Edinburgh based emerging company focusing on female-led work and socio-political themes, experimenting by mixing that with comedy. Their previous series, #FrameworkFridays, was funded by Creative Scotland and Young Scot and received over 7000 views.
The series is directed by Emma Ruse, a founding member of the company, and stars the other two thirds of Framework, Georgia Smith and Emma Cochrane. Alongside the pair, the series stars three emerging artists, Roza Stevenson, Tara Harcombe and Alex Fleming.
