Tom Hardy&Tom Hardy do the gangster Kray twins Ron&Reg in Brian Helgeland’s (known for Robin Hood, Mystic River) new film. Based on a true story Legend has it all: the thrills, the laughs and the tragic romance. All in rough and tough, London East-End, cockney accent. Good performance from Emily Browning who plays Reg’s wife Frances Shea. Overall kudos to Helgeland for this gangster-romantic picture, however, in terms of structure- the film could get more spice and attention to details in continuity- ‘…what happens to the American mafia connections…?’. Feast for Tom Hardy fans as there’s plenty of him in a splendid double act performance where he jumps into both twins’ characters like a natural. In terms of camera work the film could perhaps do with some more freehand, music video clip like shots. All in all, good job!
