For the last 6 years I have been working with the Lith printing process which uses traditional black and white photographic paper and a special developer to produce colourful images characterised by dark and grainy shadows, and delicate highlights and midtones. The results differ depending on the choice of paper and a few other factors offering a wide range of possibilities for interpreting an image.
One of my favourite subjects are trees as for me they are an endless source of inspiration and beauty. An important part of my work is the use of old vintage cameras which, in my opinion, render reality differently than modern equipment. I use this combination of old lenses and lith printing in my attempt to make images that depict a different reality, images that open a little window to some place else. – Ivan Bernall Palli
