When I started studying art, my main focus was metal engraving, e.g. copperplates, stamps, woodcut and so on. Therefore a major part of my study was academic drawing and painting, which is probably the reason why I enjoy this being an everyday aspect of my work. However, since I started exploring different techniques and approaches, I find myself thinking in a more contemporary way. I mainly enjoy wet media – watercolour, acrylic and oil paint, but I like to experiment with printmaking, mixed media and digital art.
I like to find inspiration within my favourite artists’ work, some of them being Piet Mondrian, Salvador Dali or Edward Hopper. But I always try and give a unique touch to each of my projects. The biggest aspect of my work is the human body – mostly female. My latest project has been about exaggerating female curves and highlighting them in a slightly different way, after which I decided to create a series of designs that would merge figure and architectural design together. My favourite outcomes were the Touch Mahal Project and Her name is Sydney, where I managed to combine two very well known buildings with female body.
