Enter the Citrus Club last Saturday night and one could be forgiven for thinking that they had been whisked back in time to the mid 70’s NYC Bowery and about to be entertained by the Ramones. Except this is really a parallel universe and the Ramones are girls named Cloey, Pee Pee, Margy and Rohnny who make up the Ramonas! Just like the originals, the girls tear through the
numbers at breakneck speed pausing for the odd 1-2-3-4 and we’re off again! The material is drawn from the Rocket To Russia and Road To Ruin albums hence the name of the tour- Rocket To Ruin. Classic follows classic including Rockaway Beach, Sheena, Surfin’ Bird, Cretin Hop, I Want To Be Sedated, the hits keep on coming. A packed club is lapping it up and it goes to show how great the Ramones actually were that 40 years later they are still highly revered and people are still doing the Blitzkrieg Bop!
