Some of the most reputable names in the audio community are coming together for The Edinburgh Festival of Sound, a celebration of all things audio in the heart of Scotland’s capital. Organisers are putting together a programme that promises to entertain, stretch imaginations, and push the boundaries of development in audio technology.

Produced in collaboration by audio software developers Signum Audio and music technology specialists Red Dog Music, The Edinburgh Festival of Sound will showcase cutting edge music technology, interactive sound-based exhibits, including a Giant Roland 303 you can play on, a party on the Friday night featuring new Edinburgh-based radio station EH-FM, workshops, and talks by audio professionals on subjects as diverse as artificial intelligence, audio used in video games with a special talk from CD Projekt Red about Cyberpunk 2077, and immersive audio.

Participants and partners already confirmed include Ableton, Roland, CD PROJEKT RED, Akai Professional, Ray Interactive, Abertay University, The University of Edinburgh, Audio Engineering Society Scottish Group, Physical Audio, Krotos Audio, ARTURIA, Universal Audio, ASTON Microphones, Focusrite, Moog, KRK Systems, Novation, Pinewood Studios, IDAGIO, Funktion One, EH-FM with more still to be announced.

Organisers Signum Audio and Red Dog Music intend to grow a community of like-minded audio enthusiasts and introduce a new generation to the world of audio-related technology. There will be something for everyone no matter what their level of interest is, and the event is suitable for all ages.

Industry professionals and students working towards a career in audio will be particularly interested in the North AudioTEK Forum which is on the Friday, which will feature nine high profile talks, networking opportunities, and access to the full weekend’s programme of exhibitions and activities.

The first Edinburgh Festival of Sound takes place at Teviot Row House, Edinburgh on Friday 16th & Saturday 17th November 2018.
